Daniel Le Brun Méthode Traditionnelle Brut NV (2014)

The Daniel Le Brun brand is owned by the beer giant, Lion – which owns Wither Hills. A non-vintage blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, grown in Marlborough, it is disgorged after at least two years on its yeast lees. The batch I tasted in 2014 (5*) was highly impressive – tight and rich, with lovely vibrancy and depth of citrusy, appley, peachy flavours, yeasty, bready notes adding real complexity, and a finely balanced, lasting finish. A top buy.
