Caythorpe Family Estate Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc (2015)

Grown in the ‘heart of the Wairau Plains’, the impressive 2015 vintage (5*) was harvested in March (on the 31st) and handled entirely in tanks. Weighty and dry (2.3 grams/litre of residual sugar), it’s a distinctly non-herbaceous style, sweet-fruited, with good mouthfeel, balanced acidity and rich passionfruit/lime flavours. An immaculate, tightly structured wine with a long finish, it’s a top-flight debut. Already delicious.
