The 2014 vintage (4.5*) is a wonderful buy. A dry wine (2 grams/litre of residual sugar), it was fermented and matured in an even split of tanks and French oak barriques (15 per cent new, with maturation for four months). Sturdy (14.5 per cent alcohol) and fleshy, it has strong, ripe peach, pear and spice flavours, showing good complexity, in a vibrantly fruity, ‘serious’, age-worthy style.
