Villa Maria Cellar Selection Hawke’s Bay Arneis (2014)

The 2013 vintage (4.5*) was handled entirely in tanks. Fleshy and rich, it has concentrated stone-fruit and spice flavours, fresh, dry (2.5 grams/litre of residual sugar), tightly structured and persistent. Well worth cellaring, it offers fine value. The 2014 (tasted prior to bottling, and so not rated) is also weighty and mouthfilling, with ripe-fruit flavours, dry and rounded.
