The 2014 vintage (4*), grown in the Wairau (52 per cent) and Awatere (48 per cent) valleys, was matured for 10 months in French oak barriques (13 per cent new). Full-coloured and freshly scented, it is an excellent example of a ‘fruit-driven’ style, with strong, ripe plum, cherry and spice flavours, a gentle seasoning of oak, fine-grained tannins, and loads of drink-young charm.
