Harvested from ultra low-cropping vines planted at Black Ridge, in Alexandra, in 1981, this distinctive, classy wine is made in an unusually dry style, tautly structured, racy and long – a classic for the cellar. The 2013 vintage (5*) is weighty and dry, with deep, citrusy, limey flavours, lessy notes adding complexity, and a long, slightly spicy finish. A ‘serious’ wine with a sense of youthful power and potential, it’s well worth cellaring to 2016+.
