Trinity Hill Gimblett Gravels Tempranillo (2013)

This is a consistently attractive red, full of personality. The 2013 vintage (4*) was blended with Touriga Nacional (9 per cent) and matured in a mix of stainless steel tanks and seasoned French oak barriques. Deeply coloured, it is fragrant, vibrantly fruity and supple, with generous, ripe, blackcurrant-like flavours, gentle acidity, some savoury complexity and a finely textured finish. Delicious young, it’s a drink-now or cellaring proposition.
