Tiritiri Gisborne Methode Champenoise (2011)

The 2011 vintage (3.5*) is rare – only 20 cases were produced. All Chardonnay-based, it was fermented and matured for 17 months in French oak, then bottled and disgorged after 18 months on its yeast lees. Pale yellow, with a steady ‘bead’, it has a lemony, slightly nutty bouquet. Crisp, citrusy and buttery, with considerable complexity, it shows very good vigour and depth.
