Bel Canto means ‘Beautiful Singing’. Late-harvested at Waipara from mature vines and made with ‘a good portion’ of noble rot, the distinctive 2014 vintage (4* ) is a very powerful and fleshy wine (14.5 per cent alcohol), with generous, ripe, peachy, slightly honeyed flavours, a vague hint of oak adding complexity, and lots of drink-young appeal.
