(Formerly sold under the Weeping Sands label.) The 2013 vintage (4*), matured in French oak casks (20 per cent new), is a youthful, skilfully crafted wine with deep, purple-flushed colour. Mouthfilling, with strong plum and black-pepper flavours, hints of nutty oak and fine-grained tannins, it’s an intensely varietal wine, still unfolding.
