Mills Reef’s bottom-tier Chardonnay is typically an easy-drinking wine. Grown inland, at Crownthorpe, the 2013 vintage (3*) was mostly handled in tanks; 10 per cent of the blend was barrel-fermented. Fresh and vibrantly fruity, it is a medium-bodied style, peachy and faintly toasty, with drink-young appeal.
