The 2013 vintage (4.5*) is a classy blend, hand-picked at four sites, mostly in the Cromwell Basin, but also Mount Maude Vineyard, at Wanaka. Matured for 11 months in French oak barriques (30 per cent new), it is deep ruby, with a perfumed bouquet, rich, youthful cherry and plum flavours, oak complexity and a finely poised finish. Best drinking 2016+.
