The 2011 (3.5*), grown at Kerikeri, in Northland, was matured for 15 months in oak casks. Drinking well now, it’s a moderately concentrated wine with smooth, ripe, plummy flavours, hints of liquorice and nuts, some complexity and a rounded finish. The 2012 vintage (2.5*) is full-coloured, with plenty of spicy flavour, but slightly earthy and rustic.
