The 2008 vintage (4.5*) is delicious now. Grown at Waipara and disgorged after almost three years’ maturation on its yeast lees, it is a 50:50 blend of hand-picked Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Pale straw, it is fresh, yeasty, nutty and very smooth, in a lively, elegant style with excellent depth, delicacy, complexity and fragrance. (From Sherwood Estate.)
