Consistently impressive and fine value. Grown in the Wairau Valley, the 2014 vintage (4*) was mostly handled in tanks, but a small portion of the blend (7 per cent) was barrel-fermented. Aromatic, vibrant and punchy, it is weighty, with generous, ripe melon, passionfruit and lime flavours, a hint of toasty oak adding complexity, and a dry (3.5 grams/litre of residual sugar), crisp finish.
