A ‘light, refreshing, lunchtime’ red, the 2012 vintage (3*) is a Waiheke Island blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (66 per cent) and Cabernet Franc. Matured in French oak barrels (20 per cent new), it is ruby-hued, with a fresh, spicy, herbal bouquet. Medium-bodied, it’s an easy-drinking wine with good depth of smooth, plummy flavour. Ready.
