A terrific wine, the 2010 vintage (5*) is set to flourish for a decade. Grown at two sites in the Gimblett Gravels (Omahu Gravels and Twyford Gravels), and matured for 20 months in French oak barriques (50 per cent new), it is densely coloured and powerful, with layers of blackcurrant, plum, spice and liquorice flavours, good tannin backbone and excellent complexity. It’s very classy and ‘complete’. The 2011 (5* ) was matured for 20 months in French oak barriques (42 per cent new). Bold and youthful in colour, it is powerful and savoury, with densely packed, plummy, spicy, complex flavours, finely balanced tannins and excellent harmony.
