Valli Bendigo Vineyard Central Otago Pinot Noir (2011)

Grown in the Zebra Vineyard, on Chinaman’s Terrace, the 2010 vintage (4.5*) was French oak-aged for 11 months. A powerful red, it is dense and complex, with deep colour, bold, plummy, spicy flavours and the structure to mature well. The 2011 (4.5*) was matured in French oak barriques (34 per cent new) and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Deeply coloured, it is mouthfilling, sweet-fruited and soft (in a style described by Valli as ‘downright cuddly’). Boldly fruity, with rich, plummy flavours, hints of mint and liquorice and a seductively smooth finish, it’s already highly enjoyable.
