Ngatarawa Stables Late Harvest (2010)

This Hawke’s Bay wine is called ‘a fruit style’ by winemaker Alwyn Corban, meaning it doesn’t possess the qualities of a fully botrytised wine. The 2010 vintage (3.5*), a blend of Viognier (70 per cent), Riesling (26 per cent) and Gewürztraminer (4 per cent), is mouthfilling, with very good depth of peach, pear and spice flavours, slightly honeyed, sweet (78 grams/litre of residual sugar) and soft. Enjoyable young.
