From Bilancia, the 2010 (5*) was estate-grown on la collina (‘the hill’), overlooking the Gimblett Gravels of Hawke’s Bay, and fermented in old oak barrels. Weighty (13 per cent alcohol) and complex, it is sweet and poised, with highly concentrated peach and apricot flavours, and obvious cellaring potential.
