Kidnapper Cliffs Hawke’s Bay Cabernet Franc (2009)

From Te Awa, the 2009 vintage (5*) was hugely charming in its youth. Deeply coloured, it is fruit-packed, ripe and supple, with lovely plum, spice, blackcurrant and dark chocolate flavours, and very fine-grained tannins. Showing the power to age, it’s a beautifully textured wine, for drinking now and over the next decade.
