The 2010 vintage (3.5*) replaced the former Cape Kidnappers Merlot/Malbec label. Grown on the Hawke’s Bay coast and further inland, this regional blend is based on Merlot (59 per cent), Cabernet Sauvignon (34 per cent) and Malbec (7 per cent). Matured in French and American oak casks, it is deeply coloured, with sweet oak aromas and strong, ripe blackcurrant and plum flavours, fresh and youthful.
