Bannock Brae Estate Goldfields Central Otago Pinot Noir (2011)

Estate-grown at Bannockburn, in Central Otago, this is a ‘feminine’, very graceful, supple wine, typically offering great value. The 2011 vintage (4.5*) was hand-picked, matured for 10 months in French oak barriques (24 per cent new), and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Full-coloured, it is scented and supple, with generous cherry, plum and dried-herb flavours, oak complexity and a solid foundation of tannins. A classic regional style, it has fresh acidity and excellent density.
