Ensconced in a full-sized bottle, the 2010 vintage (3.5*) was picked at Mangatahi, in Hawke’s Bay, in early June. Made from late-harvested (35 brix), raisined but not botrytised grapes, it’s ripely scented, mouthfilling, sweet (65 grams/litre of residual sugar) and soft, with fresh, gentle peach, pear and spice flavours. Enjoyable from the start, it’s recommended by the producer as an apéritif.
