The irresistible 2011 vintage (4.5*) was made from Pinot Noir grapes, estate-grown at Bannockburn, ‘picked at their optimum ripeness and then frozen for three weeks in a blast chiller’. Pink, very sweet (204 grams/litre of residual sugar) and smooth, it is strawberryish, soft and delicious, with peachy notes, excellent concentration and great gluggability. It’s almost like a fruit wine.
