Ohinemuri Estate Taniwha Merlot/Malbec/Cabernet (2009)

The 2009 vintage (4*) is a blend of Merlot (40 per cent), Malbec (30 per cent), Cabernet Sauvignon (26 per cent) and Cabernet Franc (4 per cent), matured for 14 months in French oak barriques. Deeply coloured, it is mouthfilling, with generous plum and spice flavours, showing excellent ripeness and complexity, and power through the palate. It should mature well.
