Konrad Marlborough Grüner Veltliner (2011)

From first-crop vines, estate-grown and hand-picked in the Waihopai Valley, the 2010 vintage (3.5*) is a weighty, dry wine (4 grams/litre of residual sugar), fresh and aromatic, with a rounded, slightly spicy finish. The 2011 (3*) has an aromatic, vibrantly fruity bouquet. Fresh, slightly leesy and crisp, with a gentle splash of sweetness (9 grams/litre of residual sugar), it has plenty of citrusy, appley, slightly spicy flavour. Worth cellaring.
