Deutz Marlborough Cuvée Blanc de Blancs (2008)

New Zealand’s most awarded bubbly on the show circuit. This Chardonnay-predominant blend is hand-harvested on the south side of the Wairau Valley, at Renwick Estate and in the Brancott Vineyard, and matured for up to three years on its yeast lees. It is typically a very classy wine with delicate, piercing, lemony, appley flavours, well-integrated yeastiness and a slightly creamy finish. The 2008 vintage (5*) is very refined and vivacious, with a complex, finely scented bouquet and rich, citrusy, slightly biscuity flavours, racy and long.
