The 2010 vintage (4*), French oak-aged, is deeply coloured, with a fragrant bouquet of plums and spices. Supple, sweet-fruited and vibrant, it has strong plum and black-pepper flavours, gently seasoned with nutty oak, and a good backbone of tannin. Already drinking well, the 2011 (4*) has a Pinot Noir-ish appeal. Finely textured, it has ripe plum and black-pepper flavours, with savoury notes adding complexity, supple tannins and a persistent finish.
