Surveyor Thomson Central Otago Pinot Noir (2008)

The 2007 vintage (3.5*) from this Lowburn-based producer is a moderately mature red with a nutty, spicy bouquet, leading into a firm and savoury palate. It shows a slight lack of softness and charm, but also very good depth and complexity. The 2008 (4*) is a generous red with excellent ripeness, complexity and depth. It’s a graceful, savoury wine, showing good ‘pinosity’, and likely to be long-lived.
