Seresin Sun & Moon Marlborough Pinot Noir (2008)

Only 732 bottles were made of the 2008 vintage (4.5*), ‘the very best expression of Pinot Noir we can make’. From the hillside Raupo Creek Vineyard, in the Omaka Valley, it was fermented with indigenous yeasts, matured for 17 months in French oak barriques, and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Built to last, it is deep ruby, mouthfilling and sweet-fruited, in a ‘masculine’ style with firm, spicy, nutty flavours, showing excellent concentration. Still fresh and youthful, it’s a wine to ponder.
