Pencarrow Martinborough Pinot Noir (2009)

This is Palliser Estate’s second-tier label, but in top years it is an impressive wine, better than some companies’ top reds, and is typically a great buy. The 2009 (5*) is a star vintage. Full-coloured, it is rich and supple, with concentrated plum, cherry and olive flavours that linger well, and great texture for early drinking.
