Mt Beautiful Cheviot Hills Pinot Gris (2009)

From first-crop vines and 30 per cent barrel-fermented, the 2009 vintage (4.5*) of this North Canterbury wine was picked at 26 brix. It’s a powerful, fleshy, almost dry wine (5 grams/litre of residual sugar) with stone-fruit and spice flavours, weighty and rounded, and excellent complexity and depth.
