Grown and hand-picked in Pernod Ricard NZ’s Redstone Vineyard, in The Triangle, the 2007 vintage (5*) was matured for 18 months in French oak barriques (40 per cent new), and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Dark, powerful and concentrated, it is intensely varietal, with complex plum, black-pepper and toasty oak flavours, tight-knit, strong and youthful, with powerful tannins. The 2008 (4.5*) is deeply coloured and scented, with good weight and fresh, intense plum and black-pepper varietal flavours, showing real immediacy.
