This 'blanc de noir' – a white (or rather faintly pink) wine – is estate-grown at Cromwell. It is made from hand-picked Pinot Noir grapes; the juice is held briefly in contact with the skins and then fermented in tanks. The 2021 vintage (3.5*) is very pale pink. Light, lively and smooth, it has gentle strawberry and watermelon flavours, slightly peachy notes, and a basically dry (4.6 grams/litre of residual sugar) finish. Very easy drinking.
