Waipara Pioneer Bruce Pinot Noir (2019)

The beautifully perfumed 2019 vintage (5*) was hand-picked from mature, ungrafted vines planted at Waipara by Jill and Bruce Moore in 1982. Crafted by highly experienced winemaker, Alan McCorkindale, it was fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured for a year in French oak casks. Full, bright ruby, it is an intensely varietal, savoury red, with deep, ripe, cherry and spice flavours, finely integrated oak, fresh acidity, supple tannins and a finely poised, long finish. Still very youthful, it's well worth cellaring to 2024+.
