From young vines on the Awatere Valley coastline, the debut 2021 vintage (5*) is a compelling wine, already delicious. Weighty, lively and sweet-fruited, it is less pungently herbaceous than many of the sub-region's wines, with deep, ripe, tropical fruit and herbal flavours, a slightly salty streak, finely balanced acidity, and a dry, harmonious, very persistent finish. Classy stuff.
