Delicious now, the 2020 vintage (5*) was hand-picked from 'old rows' in the Home Block, in Marlborough's lower Awatere Valley, and mostly handled in tanks; 22 per cent of the blend was fermented with indigenous yeasts in seasoned French oak barriques. Bright, light yellow/green, it is a weighty, sweet-fruited, concentrated wine with deep, ripe , complex flavours, balanced acidity, and a rounded, dry (2.2 grams/litre of residual sugar), very harmonious finish. A wine with a powerful presence, it's well worth discovering.
