Valli Waitaki Vineyard Otago Pinot Noir (2020)

Finely perfumed, the 2020 vintage (5*) is a ruby hued, medium to full-bodied red, with youthful cherry, plum and spice flavours, showing good ripeness and complexity. Very fresh and supple, it's a lithe, graceful wine with obvious potential; best drinking 2024+. The highly fragrant 2019 vintage (4.5*) was hand-harvested, matured in French oak barriques (25 per cent new), and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Bright ruby, it is a stylish, youthful red, with good density of vibrant cherry, spice and herb flavours, a hint of tamarillo, fresh acidity, and supple tannins. A vigorous, complex red, it's well worth cellaring to 2023+.
