Valli Gibbston Vineyard Otago Pinot Noir (2020)

The fragrant, savoury 2020 vintage (4.5*) is a ruby hued, vigorous red with very good depth of cherry, herb and spice flavours, woven with fresh acidity, oak-aging complexity and supple tannins. Best drinking mid-2023+. The stylish 2019 vintage (5*) was hand-picked, matured in French oak barriques (30 per cent new), and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Bright ruby, it is mouthfilling and supple, with vibrant cherry, plum and spice flavours, a hint of herbs, fresh acidity, nutty, savoury notes adding complexity and an inviting fragrance. A very graceful, youthful red, it's well worth cellaring to 2022+.
