Valli Bannockburn Vineyard Central Otago Pinot Noir (2020)

Highly fragrant and more supple than many Pinot Noirs from the Bannockburn district, the 2020 vintage (5*) is very approachable in its youth. Bright ruby, it is mouthfilling and savoury, with ripe cherry, plum and spice flavours, showing excellent complexity, depth and harmony. Best drinking 2024+. The delicious 2019 vintage (5*) was hand-harvested, matured in French oak barriques (30 per cent new), and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Fragrant and full-bodied, it is notably refined and harmonious, with concentrated, vibrant, well-ripened cherry, plum and spice flavours, complex, savoury and supple. A very 'complete' wine, it should be at its best 2023+.
