Trinity Hill Prison Block Single Vineyard Gimblett Gravels Cabernet Sauvignon (2019)

From a site earmarked originally for a prison, but 'better suited to vines than villains', the very classy 2019 vintage (5*) is a powerful, densely coloured, sturdy red. A single-vineyard wine, it was hand-picked and matured for 18 months in French oak barriques (100 per cent new). Fragrant and savoury, it is drenched with deliciously ripe blackcurrant, plum and spice flavours, with refined, silky tannins, and lovely richness and harmony. Drink now and over the next 20 years.
