The very youthful 2020 vintage (4.5*) is an estate-grown Northland blend of mostly Sangiovese and Montepulciano, with lesser amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Hand-picked and matured in French oak barriques and puncheons (33 per cent new), it is full-coloured, mouthfilling and vibrantly fruity, with strong, plummy, spicy flavours, oak complexity and good tannin backbone. Refined and fragrant, it's well worth cellaring to 2023+.
