Terra Sancta Estate Bannockburn Central Otago Pinot Noir (2020)

One for the cellar, the 2020 vintage (4.5*) was estate-grown at Bannockburn, matured for over a year in a mix of French barriques and larger oak vessels, and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Deep ruby, it is mouthfilling, with dense, youthful, concentrated flavours, showing good complexity, strong, fresh acidity and a firmly structured finish. Likely to be long-lived, it's best opened 2024+. Already drinking well, the 2019 vintage (4.5*) was matured for 10 months in French oak casks (16 per cent new). Ruby hued, with a hint of development, it is a moderately rich wine, nutty and savoury, with good complexity, lively acidity and supple tannins.
