Well worth cellaring, the powerful, estate-grown 2019 vintage (5*) was blended with a splash of Merlot (9 per cent), and matured for nine months in oak barriques (30 per cent new). Dark and purple-flushed, it is full-bodied and sweet-fruited, with fresh, dense plum, spice and black-pepper flavours, rich and flowing, a hint of liquorice, supple tannins, and excellent depth and harmony. Best drinking 2023+.
