Quartz Reef Central Otago Methode Traditionnelle Vintage Rosé (2016)

Only 900 bottles were produced of the distinctive 2016 vintage (5*). Made entirely from Pinot Noir, estate-grown at Bendigo, it was disgorged after five years' maturation on its yeast lees. Salmon pink, with a fragrant, yeasty bouquet, it is vivacious, with intense, strawberryish, spicy flavours, showing notable complexity, and an unusually dry (2 grams/litre of residual sugar), lingering finish. If you want some, act swiftly, as there will be "no more for another five years, at least."
