The 2020 vintage (3.5*) is a Northland-grown blend of Chambourcin (50 per cent), Merlot (30 per cent) and Pinotage (20 per cent), matured in French oak casks (30 per cent new). It has full, bright, purple-flushed colour and a fresh, spicy bouquet. Still very youthful, it has strong, plummy, spicy flavours, in a moderately complex style with vibrant acidity and good tannin backbone. Best drinking mid-2023+.
