Still youthful, the fragrant 2016 vintage (4.5*) was matured for a year in French oak barriques (30 per cent new), then aged for another seven months in older barrels. Full-coloured, it is mouthfilling and sweet-fruited, with concentrated, very ripe, plummy, spicy flavours, hints of liquorice and nuts, and a fairly firm finish. Best drinking mid-2022+.
