Margrain Martinborough Pinot Gris (2018)

The distinctive 2018 vintage (4*) is a more austere style than most New Zealand Pinot Gris. Fermented in tanks (principally) and old oak casks, it was matured for nine months on its yeast lees. Bright, light lemon/green, it is mouthfilling, with peachy, spicy, slightly toasty flavours, showing bottle-aged complexity, and a crisp, bone-dry finish. An individual expression of Pinot Gris, it's well worth trying.
