Mahi Marlborough Pinot Gris (2020)

The youthful 2020 vintage (4*) is a single-vineyard wine, hand-harvested near Ward, in the Awatere Valley, and mostly handled in tanks; a small part of the blend was fermented in seasoned French oak casks. Pale lemon/green, it is full-bodied, with very good intensity of fresh, vibrant pear and spice flavours, showing a distinct touch of complexity, lively acidity and a fully dry (1 grams/litre of residual sugar) finish. Best drinking 2022+.
